Treatment plans are individualized based on your specific needs. Progress is evaluated regularly, and treatment approaches may be modified accordingly. If you’re not seeing expected progress, we’ll discuss alternative approaches or referrals to other providers
Before treatment, we will explain proposed treatments, potential benefits, risks, and alternatives. You have the right to ask questions and decline any treatment. By proceeding with treatment, you acknowledge understanding and consent.
In compliance with California Acupuncture Board regulations (§1399.451, §1399.454, §4955(e)) and Clean Needle Technique (CNT) standards:
Inform Mari of all medications and supplements you take – some herbs may interact with pharmaceutical drugs. Always consult your physician before changing prescribed medications.
Please disclose any communicable illnesses or health changes before each appointment so treatment can be safely modified or rescheduled.
In the event of a medical emergency during your appointment, Mari will call 911 immediately and treatment will stop. For needle fainting – a known response – please eat a light meal before your appointment and tell Mari immediately if you feel lightheaded. For adverse herbal reactions, stop taking herbs and call (510) 770-6274; for severe reactions including difficulty breathing, call 911.
