Inclusive Care

This practice welcomes all people, including LGBTQ+ individuals and people of color. Healthcare can feel vulnerable, so creating a safe, respectful environment where you feel completely comfortable is a priority.

As someone of mixed Japanese and American heritage who identifies as queer, I bring over 20 years of experience working intentionally with diverse communities. I understand the unique health challenges and healthcare barriers that marginalized communities face, and your identity, story, and healing journey are fully respected here.

What inclusive care looks like in practice

Mari has spent over two decades working intentionally with LGBTQIA+ individuals, BIPOC communities, and people navigating the intersection of identity and health. This includes affirming care for transgender and nonbinary patients, support for queer family building and fertility journeys, and culturally sensitive approaches for patients of all backgrounds.

The East Bay has been home to communities that deserve healthcare that truly sees them. This practice is built on that foundation.

A note on language: If there is specific language you prefer in how we discuss your body, your health, or your identity, please tell us. We will follow your lead.

"Mari is one of the most skilled and compassionate practitioners I have ever met. As a queer family, Mari's ability to provide a family-centered model of care has been a dream come true!"
